Exam preparation
telc, Goethe and g.a.s.t. We prepare you. You take the exam itself at an official exam center.
The most important thing first, so there's no misunderstanding: WkD is not an exam center. We do not conduct official exams and do not issue official language certificates.
We prepare you for the exam, issue you a certificate of attendance for your course, and help you find a suitable exam center near you. You take the exam itself there, and that's where you get your certificate from.
What we prepare you for
telc, our focus
Most of our participants take telc. That's where our focus lies: we know the structure, the typical task formats, and the points where things tend to go wrong. In the course, we simulate the exam situation, so the real thing is no longer a surprise.
Goethe certificate
We also prepare you specifically for the Goethe exams. The lessons are tailored to the level you need.
g.a.s.t.: TestDaF and studying
If you want to study in Germany, you usually need proof through g.a.s.t. Here, it's also about the language you actually need for your studies: understanding lectures, reading academic texts, and speaking up in a seminar.
How long does it take?
The most common question after cost. Based on our experience so far, explicitly as a rough guide, not a promise:
Whether it goes the same way for you depends on you: how regularly you attend, how much you do between lessons, and what prior knowledge you start with. We don't promise you a date. We tell you honestly what we've seen so far.
Passed the exam, and then?
A certificate is proof, not a goal. It matters more to us that after the course, you can hold your own in a job interview, at work or in a seminar. That's exactly why we don't just practice exam tasks, but the situations that come afterward.
We've had people with a B2 certificate start over from the beginning with us, because they could pass exams but couldn't speak. We want to spare you that.
How you can prepare
Exam preparation runs as a group course, either at the weekend or on weekdays. Both courses have fixed times and run through the whole block together. On weekdays we teach in the afternoon or evening, at the weekend during the day or in the evening. We agree the exact time with all participants before the course starts.
Exam preparation comprises 15 teaching units (UE) of 45 minutes each, for B1, B2 and C1 alike and regardless of whether the course runs on weekdays or at the weekend. If you need more practice after that, further teaching units are possible. They are charged separately.
Just give it a try
Tell us in the trial lesson which exam you need and by when. Then we'll tell you honestly whether that's realistic.
